"Empty Vessel" Original Painting

"Empty Vessel" was created in 2024 on an 11" x 17" canvas panel using acrylic paint. This piece features a bottle shaped like a human skull, drawing inspiration from the distinctive Crystal Skull Vodka bottles. Though the bottle itself is full, it powerfully represents the profound emptiness I once felt when I relied on alcohol to unsuccessfully numb my anxiety in social settings and attempt to quiet my mind. Having given up drinking in 2021, I often use my art as a vital tool to process the reasons I once chose destructive habits, including drinking, as a way of coping, transforming past struggles into reflective narratives.
