As someone who loves a good mystery, "The Maltese Falcon" has always held a special place in my mind. There’s something so iconic about that falcon sculpture within the film – a silent, powerful artifact at the heart of a complex story. "Falcon No. 1," created with acrylic paints on an 11"x17" canvas panel and completed in July 2025, was my opportunity to bring that inspiration into my own world, reinterpreting that classic, mysterious energy through my own artistic lens. It’s an homage to those timeless tales, and a chance to capture that brooding, enigmatic presence in paint.
