"The Call" Original Painting

"The Call" was created in 2025 on a 16" x 20" canvas panel using acrylic paint. Another piece in my ongoing "No Hard Feelings" collaboration with local poet Amy Probst, this work depicts a skeletal hand holding a vintage phone receiver. It represents the inevitable, often agonizing call that must be made when someone you love dies. For me, it helped to process the searing memory of the actual call I received from my father the day my mom was killed.
