Following in the footsteps of "Skull Spirit No. 1," this piece continues my exploration of the mysterious and reflective nature of skulls. "Skull Spirit No. 2," painted with acrylics on an 8.5"x11" canvas panel and completed in July 2025, takes that familiar eerie aura and gives it a new form, emerging from the eyes – windows to perhaps another realm, or simply the echoes of thoughts and feelings. Painting skulls always feels like a personal ritual, a chance to find beauty and introspection in something often seen as dark. This one felt like a natural evolution, allowing that otherworldly glow to speak in a slightly different way.
